DAVID W. EPPIHIMER, JR. - FIBERGLASS TECHNICIAN
Repairing boats is a new twist in David Eppihimer's career path, although one he finds especially rewarding. He came to Rappahannock Yachts in 2001 after fifteen years building boats from the ground up, beginning with the tender that still serves the "Miss Ann," a 1920s-era yacht owned by the Tides Inn in Irvington. David now enjoys the challenge of repair work, whether it involves restoring a badly deteriorated boat to its original condition or making expert glass repairs to collision or storm damaged boats.

JAMES RICH - FINISHER/TECHNICIAN
James Rich has spent most of his 20-year career at Rappahannock Yachts. “Even when I’m not working, I’ll come down here to wash my car, be with the guys and get close to the water. This place is like home to me.” James, whose father also worked on boats, observes, “you have to have a love for it. I guess that’s why I’ve been doing it so long.” James does “a little bit of everything” at Rappahannock Yachts–fiberglass, varnish, the travel lift when needed, spray painting small parts, mast work, compounding, waxing, cleaning–everything but mechanical. He notes, “varnish work is what I do best, nice and smooth ‘til it looks great. It’s relaxing, quiet and good therapy when you get into it.”
